Illimani – Chuñavi - Khala - Kasir - Yunga Hill - Durasnuni - Sikilini – Chulumani

Day 1. Illimani - Chunavi

We leave from La Paz, we head south of the city of La Paz, in the direction of the guardian of the city, the Illimani, as we get closer its size becomes more impressive. We will arrive at Chuñavi in ​​the afternoon to set up our tents. The muleteers will meet us to prepare the next day's expedition.

Day 2. Khala

We will observe on the walk to the area of ​​Khala City (Stone City) the beginning of different ecosystems with flowers and birds such as eagles, hawks and vultures as well as hummingbirds. We must reach the pass at 4300m where the view of the Cordillera Real is magnificent, on the way we will observe different types of bromyceous, common in this Inter-Andean valley, camp.

Day 3. Kasir - Yunga Hill

Birds and mosquitoes are characteristic this day, as are the flora, orchids and ferns, gymnosperms of the European pine found the perfect habitat for those nature lovers, we continue to Kasiri lagoon and then start the ascent to reach 4200m, from where we descend again to the Yunga Cruz hill, a good place for our camp.

Day 4. Durasnuni

The vegetation becomes denser and the temperature rises, our path becomes wider and we will be able to observe deep depressions in this humid area, during the beginning of the season when few people have traversed this path, a machete is necessary, since the Vegetation can obstruct our path, from this point we continue towards the right side of the hill and begin our descent to find our campsite in the Durasnuni area.

Day 5. Sikilini - Chulumani

We reach a height from where we can see the clouds sleeping, from this point the pre-Columbian path becomes more humid and we will be able to observe plantations of the sacred leaf passing through the town of Sikilini, we will find good viewpoints, from this point the path becomes more wide and continues to the town of Chulumani (Capital of South Yungas), time to enjoy and explore, after lunch we return to La Paz aboard our SUV. Three and a half hours of walking approximately.
