Huayna Potosí

Day 1

Leaving from the hotel to the Zongo platform (two hours by car). In the afternoon we will have a practice on the old glacier (with a fixed rope) and with the assistance of an expert guide you will become familiar with the use of mountain equipment.

Day 2

After a good breakfast we begin our ascent to Campo Alto 5000m. The route is well marked and leads us to a fairly clear moraine sector at its top, already at the refuge and after a short rest we begin to check our mountain equipment, we will enjoy an early dinner and then rest and prepare for our attempt to climb. reach the top.

Day 3

After a very early breakfast, we begin our ascent towards the glacier, climbing towards the east face and reaching La Pala, to then continue our climb towards the summit of Huayna Potosí (6088m), about six hours of ascent. Once we reach the top we can enjoy an extraordinary spectacle with views of the snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera Real. We then descend to Campo Alto, and then to base camp where our vehicle is waiting to take us back to the city of La Paz.
